Upsell

Create offers

Build upsell offers — products, discounts, triggers, audience, and scheduling.

The offer builder walks you through seven steps. You can save drafts and return any time.

Open Apps → AppsTint → Upsell → Create offer (or edit an existing offer).

Step 1 — Basic info

FieldPurpose
NameInternal label (customers do not see this)
StatusDraft, Active, or Paused
Offer typeOrganize offers (single product, bundle, gift with purchase, etc.)
PriorityHigher priority offers win when several match
Headline / subtextCustomer-facing copy above the offer
CTA / decline textButton labels (for example "Add to cart" / "No thanks")

Step 2 — Placement

Choose where this offer can appear. Enable one or more:

  • Cart page — classic cart upsell
  • Product page — upsell while viewing a product
  • Cart drawer — same block, drawer placement setting
  • Checkout — information, shipping, payment, or order summary steps
  • Thank-you page — after the order is placed
  • Customer account — order status page

Each placement must have a matching block in your theme or checkout editor.

Step 3 — Products

Add one or more upsell products:

  • Product picker — search your Shopify catalog
  • Title & image — override display (optional)
  • Quantity — default quantity when accepted
  • Variants — allow specific variants or let the shopper choose
  • Featured variant — which variant shows first
  • Card layout — per-product layout override (compact, horizontal, etc.)
  • Display order — sort multiple products in the offer

Discounts per product

TypeBehavior
NoneFull product price
PercentagePercent off (displayed effective price)
Fixed amountAmount off (displayed effective price)
Fixed priceSet a specific price — on Shopify Plus stores, enforced at cart line level via Cart Transform
Fixed price line updates require Shopify Plus (or a development store). Other discount types show the computed price in the offer UI; Shopify applies standard discount stacking at checkout.

Step 4 — Design

  • Group layout — how multiple products stack (for example stack, grid)
  • Card layout — default card style for the offer
  • Layout config — accent color and other visual options
  • Preview — see layouts before saving

Step 5 — Triggers

Control when the offer is eligible. Examples:

  • Cart total greater than $50
  • Specific product or collection in cart
  • Customer is new or returning
  • Country or currency
  • Device type (desktop / mobile)

Use All or Any logic within a trigger group. Leave triggers empty to show the offer whenever placement and audience match.

Step 6 — Audience

Narrow who sees the offer:

  • Customer segment (all, new, returning)
  • Customer tags
  • Countries and currencies
  • Devices

Step 7 — Review

Confirm placements, products, and rules. Set Active when ready.

Scheduling & caps

On the offer form you can also set:

  • Start / end date — seasonal campaigns
  • Frequency cap — do not show again to the same shopper for N days after they see the offer

Managing offers

From the Upsell overview you can:

  • Pause / activate — toggle without deleting
  • Duplicate — copy as a new draft
  • Delete — remove permanently
